Shadow and Bone: Netflix releases trailer for season two
Shadow and Bone is set to return for its second chapter later this month, and Netflix subscribers are eagerly awaiting another foray into Leigh Bargugo’s Grishaverse. While doing press for the second season, co-stars Jessie Mei Li and Ben Barnes appeared to be teasing fans who are convinced they might be secretly dating.

Barnes and Li have been spotted in a rather flirty video whilst taking part in Shadow and Bone’s season two press tour.
In a clip posted on TikTok, the co-stars sat next to each other and giggled and smiled together between interviews.
At the start of the video, Barnes cautiously extends his pinky finger towards Li’s hands before they bat him away and smiles cheekily at the camera.
Barnes then kept a deadpan straight face as he leaned back in his chair and pushed Li off the armrest while she struggled to suppress another smile.

The TikTok video zoomed in on the physical flirting, and Li crinkled her nose whilst she endured her co-star’s antics.
The poster of the video is clearly convinced something could be going on, as they wrote “BEN PLEASE STOP” in the caption, accompanied by crying and love heart emojis.
TikTok user Dee replied: “Looks like Ben's love language is physical touch.”
Charlotte commented: “Imagine having someone so attracted to you that they CANNOT physically stay away from you and will try anything to get close, even with their PINKY.”

The Girl Born From Darkness wrote: “When I saw it... I died for a moment.
“Then I screamed from happiness. They are so cute, I can't.”
And DGM joked: “Oh I see he’s committed to sell this show and get another season.”
While Drew reasoned: “Nah, he definitely did this on purpose because he knew we’d run with it and go wild.”

And user4373103833171 agreed, adding: “I think he’s seen the edits and is playing us lol.”
So far, the rumours about the co-stars dating have not been confirmed.
Other fans have also pointed out that Li identifies as “openly queer”, though it’s unknown if she is currently in a relationship.
As of 2021, Li confirmed she was dating a male partner whose identity is unknown, and it’s unclear if the relationship is still ongoing.

Meanwhile, Barnes is reportedly dating American dancer Julianne Hough as of August 2022.
A source told Life and Style last year: “Their friendship has gravitated into a full-blown romance.”
“They’ve officially been an item for two months and he has been flying to and from LA to be with her in New York.”
