The shooting guard is the most versatile position in NBA 2K24. It's easy to generalize centers, forwards, and point guards but trying to lump all shooting guards together is tricky. They're in charge of scoring for the team but some are slashers or dunkers while others a three-point or mid-range specialists.

What can be said is that the best shooting guards in NBA 2K24 need to score. They also have to play defense against the game's best scorers. Such a huge responsibility may make other players shy away from the spotlight but these athletes don't back down.

10 Klay Thompson - 86

When analytics were looking for "three and D" players, they were really just looking for another Klay Thompson. The four-time NBA champion has won the Three-Point Contest and been nominated to an NBA All-Defensive team. These are the skills that win championships.

Injuries have been rough for the Warriors but this is still a dynasty, winning it all just in 2022. Thompson made five straight All-Star games with his last one coming in 2019 but if Golden State can avoid bad luck, Thompson will be heading back there soon.

9 Anthony Edwards - 86

Anybody who wasn't paying attention to Anthony Edwards and his All-Star season in Minnesota snapped to attention when the Timberwolves played the champion Nuggets in the playoffs. The team lost in five but Edwards broke franchise records during the series.

When players play at their best against the best competition, it's worth taking note. Edwards may not have the most name recognition among a loaded roster but he certainly deserves the attention as much as any of them.

8 DeMar DeRozan - 87

DeMar DeRozan has been to six All-Star games, including each of the last two. DeRozan is one of two shooting guards for the Bulls on this list, showing how much Chicago prioritizes putting the ball in the basket.

Players who use mice to play sports games on PC might find it difficult but players like DeRozan make it doable. He's shooting over 50% from the field for each of his last two seasons and can score up close or behind the line.

7 Zach LaVine - 87

Fans of the NBA will know the name Zach LaVine as a two-time Slam Dunk champion. But he's playing even better basketball since those days, getting two All-Star entrances in the last three years. The Bulls were a bit of a disappointment last year but LaVine is as strong as can be hoped for.

Chicago has some exciting scorers, spearheaded by LaVine, but could use a few more players to give the shooting guard even more freedom. If the Bulls do make a push with DeRozan and LaVine, they're headed for a deep playoff run.

6 Bradley Beal - 87

After Chris Paul was given to the Warriors after the season, the Suns struck up a deal to get Bradley Beal, the lifelong Washington shooting guard. Two of the best shooting guards in the league are now in Phoenix. Beal, for his part, just had his best shooting percentage this last season.

Both Beal and Booker have excellent passing skills. The idea may be to switch up which of these two plays on the ball. Regardless, having two of the best scorers in the league at the shooting guard spot means the Suns will not lack for offense.

5 Tyrese Haliburton - 89

A big trade with the Kings sent Tyrese Haliburton to the Pacers and, in his first full season in Indiana, he got his first All-Star stamp. Anybody who has played sports games on a VR headset knows how hard it can be to find open people and take open shots.

Haliburton makes it look easy, especially for being as young as he is and on a Pacers team that isn't exactly stacked. If they decide to build a team around this young star, the future is bright in Indiana.

NBA fans are aware of why he's now got the richest contract in the game's history. It's Brown's scoring but his consistency. Being able to depend on a huge chunk of points from the shooting guard every game gives the franchise a very high floor to build on for each game.

3 James Harden - 90

Having made the last four All-Star events, Donovan Mitchell has shown he is an elite scorer regardless of which uniform he's wearing. In fact, this last season was his first in Cleveland and he set career bests in shooting accuracy and three-point percentage.

Gamers that look forward to playing with the Cavaliers and have a great controller for sports games will find that Mitchell's speed and shooting lead to tons of fastbreak points. All Mitchell needs is a split second and he's ready to score.

The Nuggets only struggled with one team in the playoffs last year and that was the Suns. However, it's more accurate to say the Nuggets only struggled with one person. Devin Booker carried a Phoenix squad that was badly injured and almost beat the NBA champions.

A known factor in the clutch game, Booker is as gifted at passing as he is at shooting. The best point guards in the game could learn to adopt his playmaking and shooting ability. He's often called to act in this role and excels in either guard spot.
