The optimal way to mine every ore (2024)

This post is mainly for ironman players as your money-making method and buying from the bazaar is likely faster than manually grinding any of these ores. I will also mention that i posted this on reddit a few weeks ago and am reposting it here now. I will be including the locations and methods as well as my personal amount gained in testing the methods below. The stats for this test are 6227 mining speed and 1898 mining fortune. I also have efficient miner 80 and 5.7m mithril powder and 6m gemstone so you can use these stats as a point of reference for your own (note that this is with divan and scatha out so if some tests require minerals these stats will vary. a final comment before I talk about the methods is that these are only the methods I'm aware of I did some research for a few of these to see if I was missing something but it's still very possible I'm wrong so please feel free to correct me.

GOLD

many people are well aware of the meta for mining gold but I will include it here regardless, I used 3/4jaded mineral with a divans helmet and went to the mines of divan in the crystal hollows. mining the gold at the bottom of the Mines of Divan got me 4091 enchanted gold in a 10-minute test which is 153 enchanted golden blocks per hour. if you are not able to join crystal hollows I recommend going for that before attempting to get large amounts of gold but if you decide you need to I would suggest the royal mines in the dwarven mines. there is a lot of dwarven gold which can be mined for gold ingots.

DIAMONDS

Diamonds are also done in the Mines of divan but because there are significantly less diamonds than gold I am not able to test for 10 minutes. it took me just under minutes to mine all the diamonds in the Mines. in that 3 minutes, I got 303 enchanted diamonds I won't convert that number to hourly because it doesn't include time to find a new lobby which you would have to do 20 times to fill an hour. alongside gold, I would recommend not manually grinding diamonds all too much before being able to join the crystal hollows because it's much more efficient to do in crystal hollows but if you decide to there is a cart at 30 235 -158, it's just in front of spawn but its the best place to go.

LAPIS

for this I got the coordinates from the Ironman Sweats coordinates for skytils it took me 6:15 to mine out the lobby and in that just over 6 minute period I got 878 enchanted lapis which is 52 blocks an hour not including swapping lobby and getting back to spot (the reason I include this and not diamonds is that the waypoints are consistent throughout all lobbies whereas finding a Mines of Divan with diamonds can take some time.) if you do not have a bal pet or do not want to mine lapis in the method listed above for any other reason your best bet is swapping between both of the carts next to these coords 29 231 -123. these are the carts directly next to the diamond cart and they are the best place to mine lapis outside of crystal hollows.

REDSTONE

Similar to lapis, Redstone is also best done in the crystal hollows while utilizing waypoints. I do not recall where I got these waypoints, I didn't make them, and I'm not trying to claim credit but ill link them here regardless. in my 10-minute test I got 2602 enchanted Redstone which equals roughly 97 blocks per hour. if the waypoint strategy doesn't work for you or you don't have access to crystal hollows yet your best bet is to come to a cart containing Redstone in the dwarven mines located at -102 181 40.

COAL

before starting to work on this I hadn't manually grinded for specifically coal as in the early game of my ironman profile I used minions and then once I unlocked crystal hollows I had gotten enough just from powder mining to do everything I needed but if for whatever reason you are attempting to go for specifically coal I would suggest using these waypoints. I got 1918 enchanted coal from a 10-minute test which would yield 71 enchanted coal blocks per hour. again for the earlier game players or people that are willing to sacrifice efficiency because the waypoints may be inconvenient you can come to these coords (-101 182 112) I have not done a 10-minute test on this but I know it is MUCH worse

IRON

there isn't a very good way of mining iron but I'm fairly sure waypoints in the dwarven mines are technically best. i used these waypoints personally for my test and in a 10-minute period I got just 173 enchanted iron which equates to 6.5 blocks an hour. I was fairly inefficient and I think even with my setup I could've gotten a number closer to 9 blocks an hour but regardless it is much slower than the others. the dwarven mines counterpart for this strategy isn't great either but I believe the best spot is (-153 169 89) although it does require some moving around.

QUARTZ

The best spot to mine quartz is in the crimson isle and to the best of my knowledge is located at (-418 57 -700) while mining quartz you should use part mineral depending on your efficient miner level. I personally used mineral boots because I'm efficient miner 80, with efficient miner 100 you can use either 1/4 or no mineral but depending on your efficient miner level you should adjust the amount of mineral armour you wear. in my 10-minute test for this, I got 603 enchanted quartz which is about 37.5 blocks per hour.

alright, thank you for reading through this hopefully a few players actually find this useful. also just wanna say one last time that I'm, not the one who found these coords for the coal, iron, redstone, and lapis although I do not recall who I did get them from so, unfortunately, I cannot give proper credit. have a good afternoon everyone The optimal way to mine every ore (1)
