- We have soaked4 tbspyellow moong dal (split yellow gram)for 10 minutes.
- Drain.
- Soaked and drained yellow moong dal.

- In a bowl put 1/4 cuplow-fat milk, 99.7% fat-free.
- Add1 tspcornflour.
- Mix well and keep aside.

- Add2 cups of hot water.
- Pressure cook for 2 whistles.
- Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
- Mix the dal very well with help of a whisk.
- Add1/2 cupfinelychopped spinach (palak). Note the spinach must be finely chopped or you will get big pieces of palak in your mouth.
- Addcornflour-milk mixture.
- Add salt to taste. We added 1/4tsp salt.
- Add freshly ground pepper. We added 1/8thtsp pepper.
- Mix well.
- Cook on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring continuously.
- Serve moong dal spinach soup | dal palak soup | zero oil moong dal soup | spinach and lentil soup | hot.

- Note the spinach must be finely chopped or you will get big pieces of palak in your mouth.
- Thezero oil moong dal soupwill thicken slightly as it cools down, you can add milk to adjust the consistency.
