Ingredients for Crock Pot Maple Beef Brisket

  • 1 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 – 2 lb beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup apple juice
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

How to Make a Maple Beef Brisket in a Crock Pot

  1. Mix together your salt and peppers in a small bowl, rub mixture all over your brisket and place in a resealable bag
  2. Put your remaining ingredients in a bowl, stir until well combined and pour into the bag with your brisket
  3. Place your brisket in your fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight (flip the bag quite a few times during this time)
  4. Put the brisket and marinade in your 6-quart crock pot (I used Sir Hamilton, myProgrammable Insulated Slow Cooker), cover and cook on low for 6-8hours (turn your brisket a couple times while it is cooking if you can)
  5. Season to taste and slice against the grain of the meat and serve with cooking juices

Crock Pot Maple Beef Brisket Notes:

  • Just in case anyone is wondering, I did not brown the brisket first. It just browned up nicely in the crock pot.
  • As with any of our recipes, calorie counts and nutritional information varies greatly depending on which products you choose to use when cooking this dish.
  • All slow cookers cook differently, so cooking times are always a basic guideline and shouldalways be tested first in your own slow cooker and time adjusted as needed.

Instead of low for 6-8 hours can I speed up the cook time by cooking on high?

      Hi Emilie!

With beef, I always recommend low because it makes the meat so tender. If you cook on high, it won’t be as tender.

Fantastic recipe, everyone loved it. Making it again today but tripling the size so we have more leftovers. I did shred it instead of slicing it and added barbecue sauce.

      Hi Christine!

I’m not aware of it being called anything besides brisket. Are you having trouble finding a brisket or have you just not heard of it before?

Is a “brisket” the same as a corned beef brisket, minus the packet of seasonings?

      Hi Lisa!

This recipe is for a regular beef brisket. A corned beef brisket is “corned” which means it is salt cured. If you are looking for corned beef recipes, we have a couple. (links below) Hope that helps! Enjoy!
