Who is C.J.

C.J. is an important character in the New Horizons game and will run the fishing tourneys, which appear during the spring and fall seasons on Saturdays. C.J. seems to be a son or relative of Chip, the older beaver who ran the Fishing Tourneys in previous games up to Pocket Camp.

Sell Your Fish To C.J. To Earn Extra Bells

Looking to get the most out of your Fish? Well, you'll be glad to know that C.J. can visit your island randomly throughout the year. Upon visiting, you will most likely find C.J. roaming around your Island by the water. Should you happen to find C.J, do note that he will leave on the following day at 5am.

For those looking to earn some extra Bells, trading your fish to C.J. will result in him paying you 150% more for your fish than Timmy and Tommy.

Unfortunately, there is a catch though, as before C.J. will purchase your Fish he will ask you to complete a challenge that consists of catching three fish of the same size in a row. C.J. will inform you of the size by giving you an example of a similar size fish. While you won't have to catch the same species of fish, it is important that you catch three of the same size fish in a row in order for the challenge to be successfully completed.

Always wanted a Sturgeon sculpture? Well, you're in luck as trading C.J. three of the same fish will result in a sculpted Fish Model being sent to your mailbox. Once you commission the model, it'll arrive in the mail the next day.

When is C.J.'s Fishing Tourney

The Fishing Tourney event will be hosted every second Saturday throughout the months of January, April, July, and October. On the morning of the event, Isabelle will make an announcement informing everyone that the event is about to start. The bulletin board in front of Resident Services will post an announcement of the fishing tourney a week before the day of the event.

What is C.J.'s Fishing Tourney Event and How Do You Play It

Hosted by C.J., the Fishing Tourney is an event that occurs second Saturday during the month of January, April, July, and October. On the days in which the event is set to occur, C.J. can be found near the Resident Services area. To begin the event, speak with C.J.

Upon speaking with C.J., you will be tasked with catching as many fish as possible during a 3 minute time period. All fish that you catch during this will be sent to C.J.'s cooler, so don't stress too much about having free space.

Each fish that you catch will earn you one point, however, you will earn an extra two points every time that you catch a minimum of three fish.

It is also worth noting that for the event to take place, the player will need to have constructed additional housing, as having an upgraded Resident Services building seems to be a prerequisite to hosting the event.
