I prefer sandwiches a lot because they are quick to make, easy to carry around with the Sandwich Bag! Usually, I go with veg or corn cheese sandwich. When the sandwich is made with whole wheat bread without the cheese, they are turning into extra healthy zero waste snack. Yes, you can get the vegetables from the farmer’s market and make the spices, cheese and mayonnaise at home. I’m going to share 5 different kinds of mouth-watering veg sandwiches for your different moods. Let’s get into the recipes.

1. How to make a veg sandwich at home?

Ingredients:

  • Wheat or White Bread – 6 slices
  • Onion – 1 (big sized)
  • Garlic – 2 cloves
  • Capsicum – 1
  • Sweet corn – 1/2 cup (boiled)
  • Tomato – 1
  • Salt – as required
  • Powdered black pepper or chat masala – 1 teaspoon (optional)
  • Green chillies – 2 (optional)
  • Cheese – As required (optional)

Note: Here I’ve taken the quantity to make 3 sandwiches. Also, you can also reduce the quantity if you like the less stuffing.

You can also add carrot, cabbage and even boiled potatoes to our homemade veg sandwich Personally, I don’t like to have raw tomatoes so I would skip that. The choice is yours, just add whichever veggies you’d like to add.

Instructions:

  1. Finely chop all the vegetables and add salt, black pepper or chat masala to it. Then place them on a slice of bread.
  2. Grate some cheese on them and close it with the other slice of bread.
  3. Preheat your sandwich maker and cook the sandwich from 3 to 5 minutes or till the indicator light shows up.
  4. You can also use a pan to make your sandwiches. Add a piece of butter or oil to the pan and cook the sandwich on both sides until they turn to a slight brown. I don’t like to be overcooked, but if you want you can cook further. Make sure not to burn it.

Your homemade veg sandwich is ready. You can serve it with the homemade tomato ketchup.

2. Corn cheese sandwich recipe:

Ingredients:

Note: Here I’ve taken the quantity to make only 1 corn cheese sandwich.

  • Sweet corn – 1 cup (the more the better)
  • Cheese – 1/4 cup (grated)
  • Onion – 1/4 cup (finely chopped)
  • Garlic – 2 cloves (finely chopped)
  • Mayonnaise – 2 tablespoons
  • Black pepper – 1 teaspoon (powdered)
  • Lemon – 1/2 tablespoon (optional)
  • Chat masala – 2 teaspoons (optional)
  • Salt – As required

Ingredients:

  • Boil the sweet corn and cool them to the room temperature.
  • With the help of the knife, you can get the corn kernels separately.
  • Add onion, cheese, garlic, black pepper, salt and chat masala to the corn kernels. And give it a good mix.
  • Now spread our homemade mayonnaise on both the slices of bread on their inner sides.
  • Place our stuffing on one bread and close it with another.
  • Cook from 3 to 5 minutes in the preheated sandwich maker or in a pan until they are slightly brown.

Serve hot with the homemade mayonnaise and tomato ketchup.

3. Veg sandwich with mayonnaise or veg mayo sandwich:

Ingredients:

Just combine the above 2 recipes to get a veg mayo sandwich, lol! Yes, this is how we invent new food dishes at our kitchen, don’t you agree?

  • Mayonnaise – 1/2 cup
  • Garlic – 2 to 3 cloves
  • Cabbage – 1/4 cup
  • Onion – 1/4 cup
  • Capsicum – 1/4 cup
  • Lemon – 1/2 tablespoon
  • Pizza seasoning – ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper – 1 teaspoon (powdered)
  • Salt – as required
  • Tomato – 1/4 cup (optional)
  • Boiled potato – 1/4 cup (optional)
  • Carrot – 1/4 cup (optional)

Instructions:

  • Take all the ingredients except mayonnaise and chop them finely.
  • Add mayonnaise, salt, black pepper and lemon juice to the chopped items and mix well.
  • Spread this on a slice of bread and close it with another.
  • Cook from 3 to 5 minutes in the sandwich maker.

4. How to make mint mayonnaise sandwich?

Just add the mint chutney in the above recipe or just spread the mint chutney on the bread before placing your mayo stuffing.

5. How to make a veg cold sandwich?

Since we are making cold sandwiches, we don’t need a sandwich maker here. Just prepare the stuffing and refrigerate it. Let’s look into the ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • Hung curd – 1/2 cup (Hung is the yoghurt without the water content)
  • Mayonnaise -1/4 cup
  • Garlic – 2 to 3 cloves (finely chopped)
  • Pizza seasoning – ½ teaspoon
  • Cabbage – 1/4 cup (finely chopped)
  • Onion – 1/4 cup (finely chopped)
  • Capsicum – 1/4 cup (finely chopped)
  • Cucumber – 1/4 cup (finely chopped)
  • Carrot – 1/4 cup (optional) (finely chopped)
  • Lemon – 1/2 tablespoon
  • Salt – as required

Instructions:

  • To make the hung curd, place the required amount of curd in a clean cotton cloth and tie it tightly. Let it sit for 2 to 3 hours. Then squeeze the cloth to get rid of the water completely from the curd. Your hung curd is ready.
  • Mix all the ingredients together and spread it on the bread and close it with the other.
  • Refrigerate it from 20 to 30 minutes before serving.
